I just found out that Katanagatari episodes are going to be released at the rate of ONE PER MONTH. Bummer. I was willing to wait that long, or longer, for Eve no Jikan, but then that was an astounding work. (A movie version of that, BTW, will be coming out this years, with new footage added.) Katanagatari is not in the same league at all, and I’m wonderin’ if the fan base will loose interest in this show, having to wait so long. Especially since the first episode was so dominated by excess verbiage.
maybe this anime will last a year coz maybe one episode is equal to one sword…
well it sucks that it have to come out every month…

I agree w/Change. BTW, I’m delighted this episode has shown up now and proven what I heard wrong (‘tho I also heard taht the next ep [#3] will be out on 8 March, so who’s to know?) Anyway, Gossipman has just displayed his butt ignorance for all the world to see. Granted, everybody’s entitled to their taste, as he is, to his. BUT, if you know any Japanese, you’d realize this episode’s dialogue is full of word play that is lost in translation. Nevertheless, the absurd conversation about catchphrases while walking across the desert is worthy of Samuel Beckett, and accessable to anybody. Priceless. The art, which is highly innovative and which I like A LOT, is based on archaic Japanese styles, especially calligraphy. Look at the way the faces are drwan, and think of caligraphic kanji characters. Yeah, the action is sparse but (knowing just a tiny bit about martial arts) it’s accurate in that it’s fast and sharp and done with before you know it. I loved the familiarization scene, especially the hair sucking and licking, which is hysterical precisely because the Japanese are SO squeemish about touching and physical intimacy! This is a smart show; of course GossipMan and his kind wouldn’t like it.
The show is good so far, I especially like the art style.

i really like this, the characters are unique and the idea of a ’sword-less’ style is very interesting it also reminds meh of okami with its art style and type of era they are in.
P.s. i don’t mind the monthly thing, but that means it will end in December ^_^
There is so much random dialogue in this anime. No wonder the episodes are 45 minutes long, the extra 21 minutes is nonstop talkzing.
